​ 2015 PV Street Fair & Music Festival welcomes the following musical entertainment to our main stage.

PRETZEL LOGIC

Los Angeles based “Pretzel Logic – A Steely Dan Revue” has been playing the festival scene, as well as the club circuit in Southern California since 2001. The group’s dedicated members play with a passion the music of Steely Dan, whose legendary hits include: “Reelin’ in the Years”, “Josie”, and “Peg”.  The music of Steely Dan crosses many musical boundaries. From their jazzy horn lines and smooth vocals, to rock guitar licks and funky grooves, their appeal is wide ranging. With an array of classic songs that ease you into your seat, and upbeat tunes that get you dancing, Steely Dan’s repertoire has an impact on everyone. 

This little “big band” consists of three vocalists, three horns, and a solid rhythm section. Pretzel Logic brings the spirit of Steely Dan alive with a powerful show that leaves people buzzing.

KARL GROSSMAN & CAMINO RIO

“Camino Rio” is led by Los Angeles concert guitarist Karl F. Grossman. Influences of Flamenco, Latin Jazz, and exciting vocal harmonies join to forge their brand, “Rockin’ Rhumba!”. The rhythms are born of cool ocean waves and warm Mexican winds. The melodies are original, the sound is Southern California. Featuring nylon guitar strings played with fingers, Camino Rio is a stylish, main stage quality act that will complement and enhance any event.

Incorporating world percussion, bass, and palmas, it is an expandable format of 2 to 8+ musicians that regularly includes dance and special guests – always exciting!

SOUL SACRIFICE

The music of Santana spans 40 years and has evolved through several artistic styles with the underlying roots always intact. The music is universal, infectious, and passionate.

Soul Sacrifice is a group of career musicians who are dedicated to bringing audiences a high energy and high quality experience performing the music of SANTANA. Chuck Alvarez leads a group of seasoned professionals who have a long list of credits. 

The various members of Soul Sacrifice have played and or recorded with the following artists: Rick Derringer, Dave Mason, Tim Weisberg, Deanna Bogart, David Benoit, The Emotions, Gerald Albright, Lisa Haley, Four Tops, Shalimar, Martha Reeves, Dokken, Jorge Santana, Bob Menser, Breakestra, Vicky Carr and Cold Blood. 

Soul Sacrifice delivers this music with the same passion and high level of musicianship that the original band is known for. Their love for the music is evident and leaves audiences satisfied with the Santana experience.

ANDY & RENEE WITH HARD RAIN

Andy & Renee, along with their band Hard Rain, have taken their unique sound to venues large and small all over the world. Local highlights include The Grand Annex, The San Pedro & Redondo Beach Lobsterfests, Hermosa Beach Summer Concert Series, House of Blues, and The El Rey Theatre. They have also played to thousands at the Telluride Blues Festival, the Bob Dylan Festival in Alba, Italy and the Fringe of the Cork Jazz Festival in Ireland. Andy & Renee have also played to 35,000 at the Nanning Int’l Folk Festival in Nanning, China.
 
Andy & Renee & Hard Rain have 13 award-winning CDs and 2 DVD releases. Their PBS Concert Special, “Black Box Opens-Andy & Renee”, filmed at the ATLAS Black Box Theatre at the University of Colorado, Boulder, recently won a Regional Emmy.
 
Locally, Andy & Renee play every Friday at the Ports O’ Call Restaurant in San Pedro and The Buffalo Fire Department in Torrance every Wednesday. They play a variety of events including private parties, fundraisers and House Concerts.
 
In addition to all this, Andy Hill and Renee Safier just celebrated their twenty-fifth year hosting their own Dylanfest. What started out as a small once-a-year backyard party where a loose conglomerate of close friends would take turns performing Dylan classics all day and well into the night, has evolved into a full blown 8 hour music festival attended by hundreds of fans and featuring Hard Rain and many of L.A.’s top musicians.

RIP MASTERS

A virtuoso of boogie-woogie piano, Rip found his musical calling early in his love of Country music and old Rock ‘n’ Roll records. He sang in church and school singing groups before deciding to become a professional. He started out as a singer and guitar player, but became so accomplished on the keys that he was in demand as a session player, playing on many of the Rollin’ Rock label’s Rockabilly records, including recordings by Gene Vincent, Ray Campi, Mac Curtis, Jack Cochran, and many others. He also recorded his first album, “Rock That Rock!” for Rollin’ Rock.  He toured the Far East, the West Coast, Texas and all over California, perfecting his performing skills. His second album, “The Cool And The Crazy”, was released on Commando Records to enthusiastic reviews. Read More

THE MVPs

The MVPs “The Most Valuable Players”, from Southern California, are one of the top musical acts performing today. The band mixes rock, R&B, Latin, swing, and current pop and hip hop grooves to create a high-energy dance sound all their own. Their enthusiasm is infectious and they’re guaranteed to excite any crowd.

​A collection of world class talents, The MVPs have been wowing crowds around the country with their spectacular performances for years. From back to back New Year’s Eve blowouts at the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, to the Olympic Games’ AT&T Centennial Park before an audience of more than 50,000. Appearing with such greats as Santana, Ray Charles, Gypsy King, Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire, Kenny G, Tom Jones, and the Go-Go’s, as well as more contemporary artists including pop superstars Kelly Clarkson, Pussycat Dolls, Bon Jovi’s Ritchie Sambora , Sarah Brightman, Earth Wind & Fire, Kenny G, DEVO, Blondie and Sheila E. The MVPs performed 6 MGM NYE shows in a row, backing up artists like The Four Tops, Pointer Sisters, The Temptations and recently opened for Katy Perry at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. Read more
